If you are looking for a function band, covers band, wedding band or party band, look no further: Something Borrowed is a live band that specialises in performing popular pop and rock music at weddings, parties and corporate events. The band consists of high-end professional musicians dedicated to keeping your guests dancing all night long! To complete your event’s entertainment Something Borrowed also offers drinks and dinner music as well as a full DJ service.   

The members of Something Borrowed have worked with various recording artists including Busted, Ministry Of Sound, James Taylor Quartet, Skunk Anansie and Andy Abraham. They have played extensively throughout Europe and have made regular appearances on TV and radio, most notably the Lily Allen Show. 

Our services:

Something Borrowed usually plays for 2 x 45 minute sets but can play significantly longer should you require.

Every song is carefully balanced using our bespoke line-up of instruments. This all adds up to well thought-out sets that will keep your guests on the dance floor all night long.

Something Borrowed can also provide accompanying music for your dinner or drinks reception, creating the perfect atmosphere for any occasion. 

The band uses a top-of-the-range PA system, lighting rig, and sound engineer, and can provide recorded music during their breaks. To complete the ultimate package they can also supply you with a full DJ service.

Something Borrowed also offer the Something Borrowed App. Its unique features allow you as the Bride and Groom to customise the app to allow your guests to have all the information relevant to your wedding at their fingertips.

Something Borrowed are:

Tim Haycocks has been gigging professionally for more than 20 years and has worked with a range of acts from the James Taylor Quartet and Incognito, to Skunk Anansie and Andy Abraham. A music graduate in both guitar and vocals, he has experienced virtually every side of the industry. Energetic, enigmatic and engaging, Tim is never more at home than when he’s on stage, be it a small, intimate event or a huge European festival.

At the tender age of 18 Graham Sims picked up an acoustic guitar and within eighteen months had passed Grade 8 Classical Guitar with distinction. Graduating with First Class Honours in music from Bath Spa University secured him a scholarship to study at the Bath International Guitar Festival. In 2006, Graham formed Something Borrowed and today he enjoys balancing teaching and performing with running one of the UK’s most successful function bands.

Susie Gillis started out studying piano and violin before adding the bass guitar as yet another string to her bow. She studied music to post-graduate level at King’s College, London and the Royal Academy of Music and has performed at venues like the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall alongside some sensational classical performers including John Williams and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Danny Russell is a versatile and accomplished musician and has worked on a huge variety of musical projects. He achieved TV and radio success with his own band in the late 2000’s and has played prestigious rock venues such as the Underworld, the O2 Islington Academy and the legendary 100 Club. As a producer, he has written and collaborated with Busted and the Sugababes and had songs released internationally on Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi records.

Ben Hartley has been playing drums and percussion for over 20 years. He graduated with honours from the Guildhall school of Music and Drama in 2006 and has since worked as a freelance drummer and percussionist both in bands, multiple shows and orchestras. More recently he has appeared in the blockbuster feature film ‘Captain America’ and was also a major part of the incredible London Olympics opening ceremony.
