String Quartet

Sixteenwires is a young, professional string quartet based in London. The quartet regularly performs at events such as wedding services and receptions, memorials, parties and business and charity events in and around London as well as in numerous recitals. Notably, it has made a number of television appearances including the BBC’s ‘People Watchers’ and ‘Lily Allen and Friends’. The quartet has enjoyed performing in venues such as the IndigO2, Camden’s Roundhouse, Old Billingsgate and Westminster City Hall, and has also appeared in various magazines.

Sixteenwires is made up of graduate students from the prestigious music department of King’s College, London. Having excelled in their degrees, they are now exploring various avenues of the music industry. Each member of the quartet brings an eclectic mix of musical tastes and experience to create a fresh and vibrant ensemble performance.

With a large, varied repertoire ranging from light classical music to contemporary pop hits, Sixteenwires is able to provide subtle background music or lively entertainment for any event. In recital, the players enjoy performing works by composers from all eras, right up to present day.

Whatever the style, your favourite music can be adapted and arranged for the string quartet by its members, so any requests in order to make your event extra special are welcomed.

Sixteenwires are:

Susie Gillis – Violin
Rosamond de Vile – Violin
Deborah Sedler – Viola
Nicole Robson - Cello

“Sixteen Wires are our first choice when we need a string quartet. They are easy to work with, professional and above all good fun. Best of all, they are equally at home playing soothing classics to a high profile business audience or uplifting takes on modern pop to a younger, hipper crowd. It’s been our pleasure to work with Sixteen Wires.”
Andrew Williams, Seventeen Events

“Sixteen Wires played at my wedding ceremony in April 2008. In planning the music they were enthusiastic and accommodating of my ideas, which included both traditional and modern music. I wanted to surprise my husband with the theme tune from ‘Back to the Future’, a favourite film of ours as children. They were very happy to take the CD and arrange it and seemed to relish the challenge!

On the day they were fabulously professional and played beautifully. Many of the guests commented on how good they were. I am so glad that they were recommended to me and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them myself.”
Annabel Quinn, London

“Just to let you know how pleased we were with the music that the Quartet played, you created a lovely atmosphere for the ceremony and later during the receptions. Many of the guests commented on your beautiful sound.”
